I also wish to throw in the elite group the character Douchebag Jones from my upcoming film "Stop Killing the Orphans, Douchebag Jones!" I'm just waiting for the funding. Made-for-TV-Movie-esque funding.

I think Norman Bates was pretty cool. As long as you're putting the Dean from AH, you should also mention the principal from FBDO.

I wouldn't put him at the top, but I do think that Dean Wormer of Animal House warrants an honorable mention.

I think we're all forgetting about one very important person here.

David Bowie as Jareth from Labyrinth.

I mean, come on. The pants alone were enough to deserve mention.

But I would definitely put Ledger as The Joker among the top. Maybe right at the top, but it would be along side Lecter. It really says something about Hopkins when he won the Oscar with roughly 20 min. or less of screen time.

I'd say Ledger's Joker would be among an elite group of great movie villains among:
- Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange
- Joan Crawford from Mommy Dearest
- Patrick Bateman from American Psycho
- Darth Vader from Star Wars
- Wicked Witch of the West from Wizard of Oz
- Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, Hannibal
- Keyser Soze from The Usual Suspects
- Frank Booth from Blue Velvet
- Doc Hopper from The Muppet Movie

Well, it's an odd numbered season, and they only do Arabs in even numbered seasons. Usually, they do Europeans in odd numbered seasons, but apparently much of the threat for seven is going to be domestic. Season 3 did have some Hispanics, which was an interesting twist.

According to Wikipedia, the Africa storyline was the originally going to be the season 7 plot, but once they budgeted shooting in Africa, they decided to go a different direction. So, I guess they decided to do it for the prequel.

It will be good to see Jack Bauer end genocide. Just like he ended racism in season 4 (at least according to Ed).

Sweet.

It's good to see that they're leaving their alternating between Arabs and Russians every season as the villains, or even the combination of the two. And we're addressing all the messed-up-ness in Africa.
