The Secret Service should investigate Jackson's comments about O'Bama as a threat against a public official and presidential candidate.

Federal law makes it a crime punishable by up to 5 years in prison to threaten the President,a presidential candidate and members of the presidential; family.

If anyone of us did so,we would be held liable under the law. Jesse Jackson needs to be responsible under the same penalties.

No doubt he would have thrown a fit. And, rightfully so. But, it's that inconsistency that's cost him his credibility over the years.

Just can't help but wonder how Jackson would've reacted if Imus said the exact same thing.

I thought of that too, but then I read a follow up post. Apparently, he got a lot of e-mails regarding it. In his response, he claimed that he wasn't "angry" but he still wanted to beat the guy up. I think if it was a joke, he would have come clean.

Regardless, I do love the last line of your comment. Outstanding summary.

One possibility I came up with while reading this was that it was totally done as a joke. A joke done in poor taste, mind you, but with no real harm or malice intended. Kinda tongue-in-cheek. I mean, on some level there is that element of irony that a church would post something like this. I even got a little bit of a chuckle reading this, thinking it may not be serious. This is the kind of thing I could even see someone like Wentz coming up with. But the difference is that he wouldn't actually publish it. Just mention it in a joking manner. And that's where, if this is a joke, it crossed the line. Yeah, it's kind of funny, if that's your brand of humor. But when you publish it, it may not be taken that way.

I also don't know this guy or his church, so I don't know what was meant here. All I do know is that he has serious issues he needs to work through either with forgiveness or with comedy.
